ARLINGTON ACADEMY OF HOPE UGANDA
ABOUT US
OUR BACKGROUND
Arlington Academy of Hope (AAH) Uganda, and its sister organization in the USA called REACH for Uganda, were founded in 2004 by John and Joyce Wanda, immigrants from Uganda who had settled in the USA in 1996.
AAH Uganda is a non-governmental organization that serves the children and people of Uganda, specifically in the three rural districts of Bududa, Manafwa and Namisindwa. To achieve its mission and goals, we have built a model primary school in Bududa district called Arlington Junior School (AJS) that educates 500 students and later Matuwa Junior School in Namisindwa district with 370 students.
OUTREACH PROGRAM
Arlington supports 26 government and private primary schools in the three districts with education resources, workshops and girl mentorship programs.
GIRLS PROGRAMMING
AAH is dedicated to ensure that girls are empowered, know their rights and make their own life choices.
Better housing
We support the initiative to cement floors of houses to improve quality of life in homes through better hygiene practices.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Through our partner RAIS, we have given soft loans to 90 beneficiaries since 2022 to start and boost businesses.
SPONSORSHIP
Our students are sponsored to get quality education from Arlington Junior School and outreach schools through secondary to University.
ICT
The program ensures that all students and staff are IT competent. We have installed technology infrastructure to achieve this goal.
